getDirections automatically creates a "Get Directions" link which maps directions from your site visitor's location to your preset destination (typically your address). The user does not need to type in anything.  Their location is automatically detected. No accounts or API keys needed.

By clicking on the "Get Directions" link, a user's physical location is determined by way of Maxmind's free geolocation service, and they are presented with a map on Google Maps with the directions from their location to your preset destination.

Eg. You have set your destination as "301 Front Street West, Toronto, ON" in the plugin preferences.  A user from Barrie, Ontario clicks on the "Get Directions link and is presented with a Google Map (with directions) directly from Barrie to 301 Front Street (the CN Tower).

getDirections allows an unlimited number of instances per article, and you may specify as many destinations as you wish, or simply use the default destination in the plugin preferences if you're only providing directions to one location.

The days of having to ask your site visitors for their address in order to generate directions are gone.  Save your users time, and make getting directions a breeze.

Note: if the geolocation is detected incorrectly, or if the user wishes to present directions from another departure point, they may change the location manually.

To use:

1. Install the plugin
2. Edit the plugin's preferences (to set your default destination)
3. Publish the plugin
4. Add the text {getDirections} to any of your articles to output directions for your default location, or
5. Add the text {getDirections "Destination Address" "Destination Name"} to specify any address

This will place a "Get Directions" link, which opens in a new window.
